Half Doll with wig,on cushion,1930's VG antique

Another fine antique doll from Nancy's Dolls and Antiques

This doll is called a half doll or pinchushion doll. The top portion is bisque or porcelain and only goes down past the chest to the waist, then it is attached to a cushion or ball of covered foam to form a base. This one is a beautiful doll with the hard to find wig and is 6 1/2" tall. Most often the heads are molded and have painted on hair. She is very serene and dainty with her arms away from her body makes her most desirable. Her dress covers the base and is of pink and green satin with trim and in very good condition. She has a tip of one finger missing but you really have to look to notice it. Her wig is full and upswept. She has a wonderful painted face.
