This is a very early Chinese Opera doll. It has a composition head and a wooden body. The upper arms are wire with the lower arms being composition. The fingers are very long! The legs are also wooden and she wears little cloth slippers. The back of the head has molded hair ornaments to resemble jewels around an upswept hairdo. The elaborate costume is embroidered. Around her waist is the hoop that is there to symbolize a chastity belt. She is 10" tall.

Pair of Oriental men

These little 5 1/2" Oriental men are different than the usual ones you find. They have composition heads, arms and legs with a plump little cloth body. Their pants are sewn onto their body but their jackets are loose but do not come open. Therefore I cannot see any markings anywhere. The doll in the red jacket is in very good condition and the one in pink jacket has some compo flaking on his face. But the one in pink has the que in the back of his head (braid) and the other one has an all painted bald head with the little black spot of hair at the forehead. Both sets of clothes are very good, with some fading on the pants of the left one.

Japanese man seated is 5" tall. He is from the 1920's-1940's. His head is composition and his arms are wood.
